Natural Satellite

A Natural Satellite (also called 'moon') is a heavenly body that revolves around a large planet or an asteroid or a dwarf planet. For example, the moon is a natural satellite orbiting earth, a planet. Among the eight planets in the Solar System, only six have natural satellite(s) orbiting around them. The two planets without natural satellites are Mercury and Venus.

It has been found that about 168 natural satellites orbit around the planets of the Solar System. Ganymede, a moon of the planet Jupiter is the largest natural satellite in the Solar System.
